Weekly Catch-Up
Another week another catch-up! And before you laugh at me, don’t worry, the title [though idiomatically incorrect], was written that way on purpose! *wink*
With Christmas less than 2 weeks away, I’ve been working my socks off to meet all of my deadlines before we head off on our mini vacation. I almost only scheduled 2 days off for the holidays, but hubby would not hear any of it! To be fair, I’ve been working well into the evenings of late, which often means typing away on my laptop like a mad woman, whilst trying to multitask and watch Netflix! I think it’s fair to say hubby is right, a few days off will definitely do me some good! Until then however, it’s work, work, and more work, a.k.a the storm before the calm! Here are a few of the things I’ve been working on and getting up to this week…
1. The big reveal | If you’re subscribed to my YouTube channel, and have been following my excessive hair loss journey, you may have caught my most recent update, where I shared that I would be testing a range of products from a mystery brand, that are targeted at reducing hair loss and thinning. Well… this week I finally filmed the results video, and can’t wait to share my experience and whether or not the products actually worked. The video should be live in the last week of 2017 or the first week of 2018, [be sure to subscribe to my channel to get a notification when it’s up!]
2. Book splurge | I’m a huge believer in reading and developing ones craft and knowledge through some good old book time. In fact if you got your hands on my Ultimate ‘Smash your Goals’ Planner Pack, you’ll have seen the ‘books to read in 2018’ template. I still have a few books in my possession that I’ve yet to read, but also ordered a few that I’ve been meaning to get my hands on, for example:
The Rainbow Come and Goes – I found this on Myleik’s book list. She’s mentioned it several times on her social media platforms, so if you know how much I admire Myleik’s work, you’ll know I didn’t need much convincing. Here is what she had to say about it:
‘If I had the time I’d read this book again and again and again! It’s a series of emails between Anderson and his mother and their lives and all of their experiences will have you sitting on the edge of your seat’.
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck – because too many people have told me that this is a great read
All About Love – Myself and hubby take time out three times a week to focus on our relationship. We have our usual Friday date night, and then dedicate two additional nights a week to 1) an activity, e.g. reading, painting etc, and then 2) talking about us. We’ve been on the lookout for a new book to read on our activity night, and this one comes highly recommend from a good friend.
3. Curbing my addiction | For those who caught my last weekly catch up, you may be pleased to know [if you’re a fan like myself], that Starbucks sell their toffee nut latte syrup! I decided that spending approx £4 a day on a drink alone, was unacceptable, so I bought the syrup and have been making them myself for a fraction of the cost at home. I guess the real thing to mention here is my homemade version taste so darn good!!! *Patting myself on the shoulder!*
4. Glamming it up for the season | I’ve been sporting a red lip more and more these days, can you tell? [Current fave linked here] – There’s something about the festive season that makes me want to brighten things up a little. Alongside the red lip, I’ve also been having fun experimenting with new hairstyles. In my latest video I share a Glamorous Festive Curly Updo using one of my favourite hair styling tools. Have you tried these?
That’s it from me, back to work now! Have a great weekend x
