It’s been a while hasn’t it? If you follow me on Instagram you’ll already know I recently took some time out to recharge. Initially my ‘time out’ involved little to no recharging at all, in fact I was all up in my feelings for the most part, and simply put… an emotional wreck! Fortunately for me, being married and not living by myself, means that if there’s ever a time I’m not feeling my best, my Husband steps in and helps me get back on track.
Now for those wondering what caused my mini breakdown, simply put, Comparison. The funny thing is, I of all people know that ‘Comparison is the thief of joy’, but in this digital age that we live in, it’s very easy to forget, and so I did. I found myself in a vicious cycle of benchmarking myself against others, and began to think I was underachieving in so many areas of my life. As I always do when things of this nature happen, I decided it was time to switch off. No Social Media, fewer phone calls, and just time spent with my loved ones, refocusing on the things that really matter. Needless to say I’ve got my A game back, and I’m back to blogging!
Whilst it’s easy to get back on track, I’m also conscious of just how easy it is to fall off again, so in order to stay motivated, disciplined and focused, one thing I’ve introduced is a midweek self-care and self-love pamper routine. I won’t go into the details of this routine, except to say it has changed me for the better. The video below speaks for itself, and I hope it will encourage you to take time out to do exactly what I did. Love and care for myself.
I’m so excited to be back and can’t wait to share my recent adventures in Thailand with you. Catch you in tomorrow’s post, and thanks for bearing with me!
