Best of 2016: My 2016 roundup in beauty, hair care & more!

BEST OF 2016

So it’s the first week of the year and in usual Fiona style I’ve just finished my bi-annual product spring clean. If you were with me during my loveyourtresses days, you’ll know that I’m quite the product lover! I live for finding products that make my skin, hair, and any other body part, look and feel 100!

Whilst I rummaged through my beauty cabinet this morning, I noticed that I had very few products to throw away, and that’s because 2016 was my year of holy grails, I fell in love with 80 – 90% of the products I purchased and figured I would share them all with you.

Here are some of my 2016 favourites (beauty, hair care and more):

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Whipped Body Creme
This product! Let. Me. Tell. You! This is my favourite body cream period. It’s thick, velvety smooth, leaves my skin soft and supple and smells like a pot of gold. I often skip on wearing perfume when I use this because it’s fragrance is divine all by itself!

TGIN Honey Miracle Hair Mask
In all of my natural hair days I never thought I would find a deep conditioner that has blown me away in the way that this one has. This conditioner is the BEST conditioner I have ever used, and it seems many others (YouTube) love it just as much as I do. It detangles, softens, moisturises and leaves my hair feeling like it has gone to the spa. Price wise it’s a little pricier than I would like in the UK, but it’s definitely worth it.

Infiniti Pro by Conair Hair Designer 3-in-1 Styling System
This blow dryer is the bomb. I used it for the first time last year and couldn’t believe I had been sleeping on it for so long. The design is genius!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream – Abu Dhabi & London
I wear these nude lip creams almost everyday, they look great paired with a brown lip liner.

Lush The Experimenter Bath Bomb
What can I say I adore my weekly pamper sessions. There’s nothing like a pretty bubble bath to wash my aches away.

Lush Enzymion Moisturiser
I used this religiously in 2016. It’s a great moisturiser for oily/combination skin as it’s quite mattifying. On top of that it’s great for fighting against scars, no doubt because some of its main ingredients are lemon, aloe vera gel and cocoa butter.

Lily Flame Happy Birthday Candle
My mentor gifted me with this candle last year for my birthday and it’s one of the best smelling candles I’ve ever owned. I re-purchased it the very day it finished burning. The scent reminds me of one of my favourite childhood sweets, fruit salad flavoured Chewits! [If you know, you know!]

Lemons
Yes I had to include this. Last year I experienced more scarring from spots than I would have liked. One thing that helped to fade these scars tremendously [besides Vitamin E oil , my black soap, and Enzymion moisturiser] was my daily lemon routine, which consisted of placing a tiny piece of lemon flesh on top of my scars for 5 – 10 minutes to help reduce them.

Mac Chestnut Lip Pencil
I’d be lost without this lip liner, pretty much every woman of colour I know who regularly wears lipstick or lipgloss owns this. Lifetime staple status.

Playlist
Last but not least, not quite a product but a playlist that helped me get through the year.

So there goes my best of 2016. If you’re loving any of the products I mentioned let a girl know!

Oh and before I forget, I’ve received so many emails and thank you notes regarding my free printable goals sheets and habit tracker. I’m so HAPPY you’re enjoying them! If you haven’t already downloaded your copies it’s not too late. Download here.

Till next time!

Fiona
