Yes it’s true, I am was a Caribbean virgin!
In my twenty plus years of life, September 2016 marked the very first time I stepped on Caribbean soil! How in the world I had gone so long without visiting this beautiful place I don’t know, because to say I was blown away is a serious understatement. The white sand, swaying palm trees, clear blue water, and hot rays of sunshine, where nothing short of mesmerising.
The trip itself was a surprise for hubby’s 30th birthday, he had no idea we were going on holiday until we actually arrived at the airport! (Photos below of him blindfolded in the taxi). The look on his face when we he found out was priceless, the only question he could ask was ‘how?!’
Although our trip was short, a week to be precise, we soaked up a whole lot of sunshine, and spent a lot of time basking in the beauty of the Caribbean Sea, whilst sipping on cocktails (recipe for the best cocktail I had below).

Banana Mama Cocktail Recipe
In a blender combine ice, a splash of grenadine, 30 ml of rum, 60 ml of pina colada, 30 ml of pineapple juice and half a banana. Blend until smooth. Garnish with a slice of banana. Sip the yummiest fruity cocktail you’ve ever tasted!
