It dawned on me a few weeks back that I’ve been in the blogging game for over seven years!
When I look back at my early blog posts from my loveyourtresses days, I semi cringe at how poorly written they were! Those days I had no clue, I was proud of my posts and loved blogging so much, that nothing could deter me from it. Of course in hindsight those so-called ‘poorly written’ posts, were what helped me to build a platform in the first place, and what I have to thank today for the progress I’ve made over the years.
If there was one thing I wish I had access to in my early days of blogging, it would be a resource that would guide me on how to create the best content possible. Back then I knew nothing about SEO, rarely linked to relevant blog posts, and was clueless about so many other amazing blogger tips and tricks.

By now I’m sure you know how important goal setting is to me. At the end of every year I take time out to write my goals, and most important of all, I create a practical action plan that will help me to achieve them.
Goal – Get Prince2 Certification
Action plan – Save £500 in January + February, and then enroll on 5 day Prince2 course in March
Whilst setting my goals and having an action plan definitely has its benefits, I often find that these tasks alone are not enough when it comes to achieving longer term goals, or goals that have proved difficult to achieve in the past.

December 30th. Today marks the last Friday of 2016, and as I type this I’m surrounded by several sheets of paper, full of notes in preparation for the New Year.
I don’t know about you but the last 2-3 days of the year are extremely important for me, they are a time for me to reflect, be grateful for the year I’ve had, and most important of all, get my ish together, so I’m ready to step into the New Year with a bang!
One of the many ways I prepare for the New Year, is to take time out, sit myself down, and have a serious think about what I want to see happen in my life over the next 360+ days. I allow myself to daydream about ‘my perfect life/things I want to achieve'[15 – 30 minutes], and then I snap back to reality and begin to think about what it is I need to DO in order to achieve them [30 minutes – 1 hour]. Once this has been done, I put pen to paper and start with the real work… Setting my goals! [1 – 3 hours].
