The reason for this blog and the various social media platforms that I have, is my hair. For those who don’t know, my blogging journey began way back in 2010 when I had relaxed hair. I decided I wanted to take better care of my hair, and therefore started to document my healthy hair journey on my then blog loveyourtresses.com. With time and consistency the blog took off, and a large percentage of the following that I have now, is because of that.
Now whilst I’ve since rebranded, hair care remains one of the topics that I share, because quite frankly it’s my first love, and it brings me so much joy. That said, I’m sure you can imagine my disappoint and frustration, when I started to lose handfuls of hair on wash day at the start of 2017.

It has now been a total of six months since I embarked on my Ayurvedic regimen, and whilst I’ve made a lot of progress, I still have a way to go. In my most recent video I’m sharing on my current hair situation and how I’ve been feeling about my hair of late. I recently experienced my first major setback since starting my healthy hair journey seven years ago. I promised myself that once I had figured out what had caused me to lose handfuls of hair during wash day, I would share a video on my channel to help those who may be going through something similar.
Two years ago I hosted my very first protective style challenge. I wanted to speed up my hair growth in time for my wedding, and decided to follow through on four things that I believed would help me achieve longer hair.
One of the things I did was drink a smoothie a day. I was well aware of the impact of nutrition on the health of my hair, and decided that taking smoothies was one of the easiest ways for me to get a tonne of vitamins, nutrients and minerals, in just one drink. The results? Take a look for yourself
Two years later smoothies remain an important part of my daily routine, and I do my very best to ensure I take one a day. I’ve gone back and forth with different smoothie recipes but three in particular are always on repeat.
If one of your goals for the year is to see your hair grow in health and length, smoothies can make all of the difference. The three I’m sharing today are oozing with nutritious goodness and taste so freaking good!
So it’s the first week of the year and in usual Fiona style I’ve just finished my bi-annual product spring clean. If you were with me during my loveyourtresses days, you’ll know that I’m quite the product lover! I live for finding products that make my skin, hair, and any other body part, look and feel 100!
Whilst I rummaged through my beauty cabinet this morning, I noticed that I had very few products to throw away, and that’s because 2016 was my year of holy grails, I fell in love with 80 – 90% of the products I purchased and figured I would share them all with you.
